The #ShopeeGivesBack initiative is aimed at creating awareness and driving donations for various charitable organisations to support their respective causes from healthcare and underprivileged communities to the marginalised, including animals. This follows the successful activations of the #ShopeeMAKNA 11.11 Charity Challenge and Shopee MMA Covid-19 Fund.
The Covid-19 pandemic has presented a whole new level of challenges for everyone including charitable organisations as well as non-profit organisations, and many are struggling to stay afloat. Such examples are Zoo Negara and the Langkawi Wildlife Park; both of which were heavily affected by the pandemic. They are in dire need of help to alleviate the financial constraints for provision of food, upkeep and veterinary care. Malaysians can now choose to ‘adopt’ an animal through their official stores on Shopee to help these wildlife centres keep up the good work on conserving and protecting the animal population.
Shopee users can also donate to MERCY Malaysia where proceeds are used to assist with medical relief, ensure food security and provide livelihood protection to those less fortunate during the Covid-19 pandemic.
