Setiu Wetlands Festival 2019

Setiu Wetlands  is a valuable natural resource for the State of Terengganu. In Malaysia only the Setiu has nine ecosystems that are interconnected by seas, beaches, mudflats, lagoons, rivers, forests along the coast and mangrove swamps.

For the information, Setiu wetlands are not only unique, but they are too beautiful nor rich with​​ flora and fauna as well as clean sea water, wildlife and many more.

The Setiu Wetland Festival aims is to introduce the beauty of the flora and fauna to the people of Terengganu as well as tourists. The festival emphasizes on the concept of a sustainable environment as well as the preservation of traditional and cultural traditions.

With 23 thousand hectares and nine ecosystems, Setiu Wetlands is the largest wetland in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia.

You will have the opportunity to ride boat along the Setiu Wetlands to enjoy all the views of the flora and fauna. Not only that, replanting the mangrove trees and communal work are also one of the activity for this event. This activity will give the participants a new experience and knowledge on the benefits and importance of mangroves to the eco-system found in Setiu Wetlands.
