Staring 23 till 25 July 2018, the Tourism Malaysia and as well as the Department of Museums Malaysia will organize the “Tourism Malaysia Media Challenge 2.0” as well as celebrating and the launching of the The International Museum Day 2018. Today, the palace is the home of the Cultural Museum which celebrates the Malay side of the Malacca's history. The Muzium Kesultanan Melayu Melaka is a modern reconstruction of the palace of the Melaka Sultanate. Once the Sultan’s palace, today this wooden structure museum is home to many chapters from ancient Malacca’s history.
The construction materials used for the palace consists of local timber such as Cengal. The museum showcases varies items of Malacca's past. There items include photographs, weaponry, drawings, musical instruments and gifts from foreign emissaries.

On the first floor the exhibition spaces is provided which includes the balairong seri depicting the era of the Malacca Malay Sultanate reign, for example,when being in audience to the Sultan and other palace protocols.
The second floor displays the Sultan's sleeping chamber as well as his other special rooms
The third floor showcases the treasury.

The Architectural Museum will exhibit various matters pertaining to architecture such as the philosophy and concept of architecture, construction materials like the Dutch, Chinese and Portuguese concretes and the Kayu Berlian Roof. Models of selected buildings in Malaysia will also be on display as well.
Focus of the Museum Seni Bina Malaysia
There will be various shows and models ranging from textual explanation, pictures and illustration, 3D models, murals and models of selected building are also being displayed here.
